Docusign API Limit Issues

We have worked with TD and the issue is for now.

Investigating

Some users are occasionally getting an error message from Elements/Docusign saying “HOURLY_APIINVOCATION_LIMIT_EXCEEDED: The maximum number of hourly API invocations has been exceeded. The hourly limit is 1000”

This is a limit set by TD/Docusign. When you get this error message usually waiting 5 minutes and trying again will resolve the issue. Trying immediately after getting the message, will only make the hold last longer.

Temporary, we have increased the amount that Elements waits before checking for updates from Docusign. We usually check every hour for envelope status updates, we have increased that to every two hours. This should help reduce the system’s usage and should eliminate the error. Additionally, we are currently in discussions with TD about getting the API limit increased and other potential solutions.
